Benjamin “BJ” McClern

Benjamin McClern of Palmetto, Florida was born Feb 21, 1955 to the late Ida Bell Washington and Dan Gaskin. On January 19, 2023, God called Benjamin home to leave this earthly life to be with the Lord.
He attended the public schools of Manatee County and later joined the U.S Army.
He relocated to St. Petersburg, FL where he spent his last days. Benjamin gave his life over to the Lord being baptized March 12, 2011, by Rev. Willie J. Holley Th.D.
His occupational specialty was autobody repair and his favorite past time was spending time with his grands and great-grands.
He leaves to cherish his love and fond memories: Son, Cornelius McClern (Fredrina), two grandchildren Sharell Eldon and Javian McClern; three great grandchildren, Deziah, Kingston and Kenzley; siblings: Lorenzo McNeil (Linda), Roy Jackson (Mary), Raymond McClern, Ronald Sumpter (Cynthia), Robert Williams, Daren Washington , Gwen Williams, Velma Mooney, one Aunt, Maude Allen, one close cousin, Ermene Allen and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and close friend: William Baker.
