Danis J. Bivens Sr.

Danis James Bivens, Sr. was born on May 20, 1956 to the late Elizabeth Ann Henderson and the late Horace Randolph of Dania, Florida.
Danis was educated in the Broward County school system where he graduated from McArthur High School in 1974. After graduating from high school, Danis started his journey to becoming a CDL Driver where he enjoyed a 45-year career. He was a dedicated employee at Winn Dixie, Ruan, UNFI,. He also owned and operated Bivens Trucking from 1997 to 2000.
Danis was raised in Hollywood, Florida where he met Christine Tucciarone and the two were married, January 31, 1979. In 1980, they moved to Bradenton, Florida where they laid their roots until Christine passed away on December 4, 1994.
In 1999, Danis met Valerie McDowell whom he married on June 24, 2000, and created a beautiful blended family which allowed Danis to pour his love and wisdom into multiple generations.
On November 3, 2023 an angel came from heaven and said “Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant, My Child Come Home.” Danis leaves to cherish his memories: His Wife Valerie Bivens; Children, DJ Bivens (Melanie), Pamala Bivens, Stanley Bivens who preceded him in death, Jerome N. Bivens (Mimi), Mary Ponder, Tiffany Ponder, and Bruce Ponder; Grandchildren: Davion Roca, Raneya Kelly, Dubree Nobles, Jameri Hawkins, Deja Gaither, Janiah McCrea, Marcellous Ponder, Damontez McDowell, Jamarri Bivens, Natalia Bivens, Jayla Bivens, and Ayanna Ackerman; Great-Grandchildren: Dniyla Nobles and Halo Nevaeh JaSiah Malines; Siblings: Lucrecia Ferguson (Quel) who preceded him in death, Eugenia Tribble who preceded him in death, Jerome E. Bivens, Nathan Higgs, Nathaniel Higgs (Lynette), Tracie Myers, Louise Horice; Brothers-in-law: Greg McDowell (Patty), Oddibe McDowell (Betty), Jerry Tucciarone (Angie), Tom Tucciarone, and Nick Tucciarone (Marcee); Sisters-in-law: Karen McDowell-Birchette (Craig), Vicki McDowell-Green (Tim), Claudia Tucciarone. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.  
Visitation Services are 10AM-12 Noon on Nov., 18, 2023. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 12 Noon. Both will be held at Westside Funeral Home, 204 7th St W., Palmetto, FL. Arrangements entrusted to Westside Funeral Home.
