Funeral Service will be 1pm on Saturday Jan 2, 2021 @ New Life Baptist Church 609 9th St. W., Palmetto, Florida 34221. Sister Elodis (Plucky) Jean Platt was born April 14, 1958 in Bradenton, FL to the Late Mary Carnes Connors and Earnest Alvert Carnes. She united with Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Reverend C.J. Jones. She was converted at an early age and served the Lord for many years until He called her home. She attended the schools of Manatee County where she received her high school diploma. At the age of 18, Elodis began to work at Tropicana in an entry level position and worked her way up to a supervisor position. Elodis retired from Tropicana after being loyally employed for 30+ years.
On December 22, 2020, Sister Elodis (Plucky) Platt was called home to meet her Saviour.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories and celebrate her life, love and joy her hus- band, Ronald Platt of Sarasota, FL; 4 children, Aaron (Ron) Martin II (Toccara) of Braden- ton, FL, Lee Martin of Bradenton, FL, Darian (Dinky) Platt (Ashley) of St. Petersburg, FL and Roneisha Platt of Bradenton, FL; 3 siblings, Doretta Zanders of Cleveland, OH, Ernest Carnes, Jr. of Bradenton, FL and Julius Carnes Bostic of St. Petersburg, FL; 2 sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bryant of Sarasota, FL, Shirley Langston (Johnny) of Sarasota, FL, 2 brothers-in- law, Roosevelt Lason (Carolyn) of Sarasota, FL, Johnny Platt of Sarasota, FL; 4 aunts, Car- olyn Davis of Palmetto, FL, Emma Davis Winters of Tampa, FL, Lee Hardy of Palmetto, FL, and Louise Dunbar of Palmetto, FL; 1 uncle, Elder David Hardy (Rose) of Miami, FL, 14 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
