Obituary

George Edward Nelson AKA “June” was born on November 3, 1944 to the late Mr. George Washington Nelson and Mrs. Viola Nelson in Eufaulay, Alabama.
He was the eldest of five children. George was baptized by Rev. Steve Austin of Bell Temple COGIC, which later became First Community COGIC of Palmetto, Florida. He and Aretha were married 32 years, they raised two children, Renee Wil- liams and Reginald Edward Nelson.
George was always ready to help with church functions and everyone he knew. He contributed his time and dedication laying the foundation and helping with the construction of First Community COGIC.
Later in life, he attended New Birth Ministries under the Leadership of Pastor Annie Ola Gore.
George was employed by Miller’s Trailers for 20 years but re- tired from Tropicana after 18 years.
George loved watching NFL games and attending local high school games with his brother, Milton and his nephew, Alexander. He was loved by his family and everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Aretha Nelson; Sister, Mildred Potter; brother, Henry Nelson.
George leaves to cherish his memories, daughter, Renee Williams, Palmetto; son, Reginald Nelson (Pamela), Sarasota; sister, Annie B. Ford, Riverview, one brother, Milton Nelson, Bradenton; nine grandchildren, Brooklyn (Clinton) Stewartson, James Williams, III, Khadijah Nelson, Darrell Williams, Reginald Nelson, Jr., Jabari Nelson, D’Anthony Smith, Kadijah Jackson and Shavuarria (Brandon) Taylor, Four great grandchildren Jayden Warren, London Stewartson, Clinton, Jr., Jasmine Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
