Hubert “Robbie” Robinson was born November 5, 1944 to the late James Robinson and Estella Robinson.
He was educated in the public school system of Manatee County.
He served the Bradenton Police Department from 1971 until his retirement in 1998. He was the first African American Captain for this agency. He then continued his law enforcement career with the Palmetto Police Department and the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office where he was employed until his sudden passing. He dedicated over 40 years of service to the citizens of Manatee County. Robbie touched so many lives for the good and was cherished by countless individuals whom he helped during his career.
“Robbie” was preceeded in death by Gloria, his loving and cherished wife of 47 years and his son, Cedric Ivan Robinson, Sr.
He leaves to cherish Two Daughters: Shanda Robinson, and Treenia (Treni) Robinson, Bradenton, FL; One Son: Hubert Ranard Robinson, Bradenton, FL; Grandchildren: Cequoya Timmons, Sarasota, FL; Marcus Robinson, Kiara Robinson, Cedric Robinson, Jr., and Dominique Dawson, all of Bradenton, FL; De’Asia Christopher, Tampa, FL; One Great-Grandchild: Nailah Jean-Baptiste, Sarasota, FL; One Sister: Lavonne Price, Bradenton, FL; One Brother: Herman Robinson, Bradenton, FL; Three Sister-In-Laws: Mary John Graham, Wauchula, FL; Lynda Brooks, Palmetto, FL, and Betty Graham, Bradenton, FL; A Special Niece and Nephew: Tammie and Greg Thomas, Bradenton, FL, and a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
