Jermaine Antoine Grooms was born on August 16, 1979 to the late Delona Elaine Waiters and the late Rory Grooms. Jessie Gillis also was a father to him. He was born and raised in Manatee County and was a lifelong resident.
Jermaine accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and maintained his own relationship with him. Jermaine would often pray over himself, and “Your Grace and Mercy Brought Me Through” was his favorite song.
Jermaine attended school in the Manatee County school system and played youth sports. He played both baseball and football. Football is where he earned the nickname, “Psycho” because of his daredevil moves and relentlessness on the field. Jermaine was well known and loved throughout the community and mourned heavily by all who knew him when he gained his wings on April 17, 2023.
Jermaine was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charlie Seabrook, Leroy Waiters, and Millard Gill. As well as his beloved auntie, La’Sandra Seabrooks, and grandmothers, Letha Griffin, and Edna Gill.
