Jermaine "Scurry" Murray

A native of Palmetto, FL, Jermaine, was the third born to the late Alton Emerson Murray, Sr., and Jeanell Vanzetta Sailes on July 1, 1982 in Bradenton, Florida. Jermaine went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, November 3, 2023. Jermaine received Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bible Baptist Church of Palmetto, under the pastorage of Rev. Alex Harper, Sr. As a child, Jermaine was active at church, attending Sunday School and singing in the choir. Jermaine enjoyed attending church conventions, especially the musicals. Jermaine attended Bayshore and Palmetto High Schools. He played basketball at the Palmetto Boys Club and as a Bayshore Bruin. Jermaine played little league football with the Trojans at the Palmetto Youth Center. One of his proudest moments was being able to volunteer as an assistant football coach, with his Uncle Jr., with the Trojans. Jermaine worked at Popeyes Restaurant in Ellenton, FL. He enjoyed interacting with all of the guest who frequented the restaurants drive thru. Seeing him at work, one would have thought that he was the owner or manager. Jermaine’s hobbies included watching the Dallas Cowboys, spending time with his hearts (his four daughters), attending boxing events in Las Vegas with his friends, eating “junk food” and spending time with his family and friends. Jermaine was a loyal and selfless person who will be missed by all. Jermaine was a loving father, son, brother and friend. He brought joy and laughter to those around him with his sense of humor. He will forever be with us through the love he shared, the lives he touched and the fond memories he created.
