Deaconess Levora M. Simmons was born, January 18, 1948 in Manatee County to the late Florence Presha Dash and Charlie Dash.
Levora attended Lincoln Memorial High School and later worked for Manatee County School Board for 30 years until she retired. She was a life time member of St. John M.B. Church and served faithfully. She was a member of the choir, in 2016 she became a deaconess.
Her sister Rachel and her two brothers, Charles, Jr. and William, Jr. preceded her in death.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, Husband of 57 loving years, Charles Simmons; Two daughters, Tammy Sailes (Clyde) and Leslie Polite (Cedric); and one Granddaughter, Ayendi Polite, Godson, Shawn Santana and Special Nephew, Ricky Woodie (Priscilla). She is also survived by two Sisters: Vera Woodie (David), and Lorraine Dash-Braxton (Charles) of Palmetto, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held from 4 PM to 6 PM on Friday, April 1, 2022. Funeral service will be here at 12 noon on Saturday, April 2, 2022.
