Mae Emma Martin was born May 29, 1953 in Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida. Mae was preceded in death by her birth and step-parents Mother Clara Mae Bennett and Father Hezekiah Bennett, Charles Johnson, and Ira Johnson. She was raised in Bradenton, Florida attending public schools in Manatee County, graduating from Southeast High School in 1972.
Mae was a free-spirited woman who touched so many with her smile, conversations, and energy. She had a passionate heart for helping family, friends, and others in the community. She cherished her Yorkshire terrier dog named “Ruff” and enjoyed dancing, housekeeping and hobbies such as sowing, gardening, and making flower arrangements.
Mae was preceded in death by her brother Dale Parrimon (Cynthia Parrimon), and leaves behind her remaining brothers Willie Bennett, Anthony Johnson, and Charles Johnson Jr.
She leaves four children to cherish her memories: Tammie Bennett (Keith Montgomery), Pamela Martin (Charlene Martin), Charles Martin (Liteal Martin), and Kavonda Martin (Jeffrey Aufmuth). Her grandchildren Tacoya Hamilton, Takia Bradley, Liporche Williams, Demond Bradley, Ladarrias Williams, Dannique Waiters, Dantreal Waiters, Da’Shanti Bradley, A’zaria Martin, Zaharius Dent, Ja’mir Brown, Charles Martin Jr, and 18 great grand children.
Mae was also loved by a host of cousins, other loving relatives, and special friends.
