Marian L. Spires

Marian (Lawson) Spires passed away peacefully while being loved on by family and listening to gospel music on Monday February 27, 2023.  Marian was born in Brooksville, FL on August 21, 1940 to Andrew and Eliza (Stewart) Lawson both of whom preceded her in death.  She graduated from Moton High School and then moved to Bradenton, FL in 1957. Marian was a compassionate woman whose passion was caring for others.  She retired from Tropicana and went on to manage a local motel where she was able to share stories that brought joy, love, and smiles to all who came around. Preceding her in death are her husband, Albert Spires (Sarasota, FL); siblings Lee Andrew Lawson, Marshall Lawson, Samuel Lawson, Samuel Carnes Lawson, Cornelius Lawson, and Clara Higgins. She leaves to cherish her memory, sisters Erma Willis and Frances Oliver Lawson; sons Janssen Hayes, Dovel (Monique) Curry, Donald Curry, and Winifred Curry; 14 grandchildren one of which she raised Therkeyia (Cedric) Barber; 20 great- grandchildren; a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation is 6PM-8PM Friday March 10, 2023 at Westside Funeral Home 204 7th St W Palmetto, FL 34221. Services are 11AM Saturday March 11, 2023 at Church of The Living God 1015 7th St Ct West Bradenton, FL 34205
