Orton Decourcey Graves, 84, passed on May 15, 2023. He married the love of his life Joan H. Graves, deceased, on August 12, 1961. They shared 54 years joined in holy matrimony.
Orton was born on November 19, 1938, New York. He is the eldest son of proud parents Orton Hathaway Graves and Cleotha Graves, both from Barbados. Brothers Milton Graves and Kenneth Graves are deceased. He graduated from the High School of Music and Art in New York City, majoring in music.
A man of many hats. He was an accomplished artist, musician, teacher and actor. But more importantly a great father.
Orton is survived by sons Christopher K. Graves, Amir M. Graves, Kahlil M. Graves, deceased and nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
