Rev. Henry Washington Sr

Rev. Henry Washington Sr. was born April 10, 1927 in Manatee County to Sam Washington Sr. and Leia Huston. 

Henry attended the public school of Manatee County. 

In September 1954, Henry and Jannie were united in Holy Matrimony. He received Christ at an early age. He pastored Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church for twenty-one years until his health started to decline and at that time, he was appointed to pastor Emeritus under the leadership of Rev. David Mazon. 

Henry served in the United State Army as a cook. After his time in the military, he was a crane operator. 

He was preceded in death by his father: Sam Washington Sr., mother: Leila Huston, wife: Jannie Washington, daughter Brenda Bulter, brothers: Rubin Washington, Sam Washington, David Washington; sisters: Elizabeth Washington, EbernizaFlucker, Bernice Mays, Emma Mays, Rosa Rome, Ruth Crooms, Lilly Washington, Katie Callier, and Lelia Mitchell. 

Henry leaves to cherish his memory, his son Henry Washington Jr., St. Petersburg, Fl. Daughters: Queen Logins, Ft. Lauderdale, Henrietta (Haywood) Duval, Sandra Washington, Stacey (Leroy) Stanislas, Palmetto, Fl., Daughter-in-law Rose Washington, Palmetto, Fl. Grandchildren: Nakesha Phillips, Anquan Evans, Walter Moody, Nikita Law, Lisa Washington, Vanzetta McMillan, James McMillan, Sha’la McMillan, L.J. Martin of Palmetto, Fl. Henry (ShaDaryl) Washington III, Kasuna Harris, Latuna Harris of Blountstown, Fl., Cory (Aftinn) Williams, Newport News, Va., Tyra Washington, St. Petersburg, Fl., Terry Rushin, Andre Loggins of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. 30 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, sister Flora Mathis of Lamont, Fl., brother-in-law Charlie Callier of Lamont, Fl. A special nephew Cedric Brown.
