Rev. Robert L. Peterson 59, born September 30 1962, to the late Eddie Peterson and Addie Mae Fort Peterson in Bradenton, Florida. He passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2022.
He attended Manatee County Public Schools, graduating from Bayshore High School, in the Class of 1981. He retired from The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice after 33 years of dedicated service.
He received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost at an early age in the House of God Church Keith Dominion and later became a Minister. He was a dedicated member of the State Security Department for the House of God Church for numerous years. He played a major part in the Church YFFU (Young Folks & Friends Union) on the local level.
Robert was a person with a very humble spirit, many referred to him as a gentle giant. He was a mentor to many young people and when he spoke they listened.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Reginald Peterson and Morris Peterson; one sister, Doris Peterson.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Ashley Nicole A.K.A. “Ninny” Nelson (Laymond); two sons, Robert Peterson, Jr., and Marcus Shannon; one Granddaughter, NyZarie Peterson, whom he referred to as his “Pooky Bear”; Two Sisters, Gwendolyn Peterson Carnegie and Carolyn Peterson; six brothers, Van Peterson (Sherry), Edward Peterson (Pamela), Harry Peterson (Teressa), Larry Peterson (Evelyn), Michael Peterson (Lanita) and Steve Peterson (Mary); One loving Aunt, Pearlie Mae Fort and a very special friend, Ethel (Tammy) Shannon; Sixteen nieces and nephews, Eighteen Great nieces and nephews; Fifty, Great Great nieces and nephews
and one great great great niece; and a host of loving cousins, other family members and friends.
