Education: Turner was an alumnus of Hawkinsville Highschool, class of 1976. Turner was best known
as an avid football player. He also obtained an associate degree in accounting from Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, GA.
Professional Experience: Turner protected and served as a member of the United States Army in 1977 where he ended
his career as a Sargent. After leaving the Army, he worked for several trucking companies before establishing his own business, Major Trucking Company, where
he worked for 25 yrs. before retiring.
Christian Experiences: At an early age, he was baptized in as a member of Springfield Baptist and Faith
Deliverance Temple (Hawkinsville, GA). He loved the Lord with every fiber of his being. He was an avid student of God’s Word, who loved to preach and win souls to Christ. He also was the radio host for a weekly broadcast program called “Changed Man Ministry”. Elder Colson served several ministries during the course of this life always in leadership or ministry of helps positions at Without Walls Int. Church, Tampa, FL., Faith Connection International Church, St. Petersburg, FL., The Family Church at Christian Retreat, Bradenton, FL and Kingdom Family Worship Center Bradenton, FL.[where he was ordained as an Elder].
Elder Turner was predeased by his parents Turner Colson Sr., Faustine Whitehead Colson a daughter, Carla Rich Calhoun.
Cherished memories will be treasured by his wife of 10 years, Kathy Cooper Colson, Palmetto, FL. Four Daughters: Tamica Kohlgraf (Olaf) Frankfurt, Germany, Lamisha Colson, Bradenton, FL, Shahayla Colson, Fayetteville, Ga., Lacee Colson, Hawkinsville, GA. two sons: Major Colson, Hawkinsville, Ga., Brian King (Anastasia) Ellenton, FL. He was a grandfather of 15 grandchildren. Four sisters: Joyce Colson Bryant (Charles), Peggy Colson Williams, Teenann Colson Harrell (James) and Virginia Anderson Colson (Jerry), all of Hawkinsville, Ga. and one brother, Perry Colson (Katrisa) Hendersonville, TN.
Elder Colson also has five aunts: Lizzie “Auntee Candy” Shefield, Hawkinsville, Ga., Annie Elizabeth McBain, Hartford, Ct., Ester Whitehead, Atlanta, Ga., Louise Colson, Miami, FL., Betty Sarjeant, Miami, FL. and two uncles, Charles Whitehead (Loaurrine), Abilene, TX and Turner Colson, Jr., Miami, FL
