Walter Stanford

Walter (Walt) was born to Gloria Joyce Harrington Dunbar and John Robert Battle on October 31, 1956. He was raised by his beloved grandmother Vivian Harrington, whom he lovingly called Mother. Walter attended school in Lakeland, FL at a young age. He later he moved to Palmetto, Florida. Walter (Walt) worked tirelessly as a brick mason for many years. He also worked for several years for 'Packing House' located in Palmetto, FL. Years later Walter (Walt) met and fell in love with Ms. Patricia Wilson.The two were blessed in holy matrimony on July 3, 2012.The two had 11 blissful years of marriage. Walter (Walt) was funny, a lover of western shows and loved to go fishing. Walt loved his family, and he was loved by many. Walter (Walt) was called to rest on August 16, 2023.

Sarah Battle (grandmother), L.C. Dunbar (stepfather), Charlie Battle "Papa Smurf" (uncle), Edna Johnson and Doris Cook (aunts), His sisters Angela Bell, Sherry Ann "Moe" Bell, Irish Harrington and Joan Bell and one brother John C. Bell Jr. "Zeke".
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife of 11 years, Patricia Wilson Stanford, Palmetto, FL; Grandmother, Vivian Harrington "Whip" Palmetto, FL; Mother, Gloria Joyce Harrington-Dunbar, Cocoa, FL; Father, John Robert Battle (Laura), Lakeland, FL; (1) Son, Walter Stanford Jr., Lakeland, FL; Stepson, Murray Wilson IV,Tampa, FL; Stepdaughters, Latalia Weaver (Victor), Cocoa FL, Eureka Mcclendon-Grayson, West Palm Beach, FL; and Kenya Wilson Hughes, Tampa, FL; Grandson, Tyrell Stanford and Granddaughter, Zhari Stanford; Great grandchildren, Makhia Stanford and Ariel Stanford; Sisters, Greta Rhynes (Oscar), Crawfordville, FL; Angela Holmes, Janice Rodman (Joe) and Pamela Lawson; Brothers, Jerome Robinson(Robin), Victor Lawson and John Battle Jr. (Hope); Special Auntie, Yvonne Stewart, Palmetto, FL and a host of other relatives and close friends.

Public viewing will be held Friday, Aug 25, 2023, 4:00PM-6:00PM.  Celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023, 12:00, both a Westside Funeral Home, 204 7th St. W., Palmetto, FL 34221
